It lists all ingredients used in the formula, named by their INCI name (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) in descending order of concentration. This is especially important for those consumers who are seeking a specific ingredient or wanting to avoid one. Fragrance components are mentioned only by the word "fragrance", but when they contain substances that are identified as causing contact allergic reactions to some sensitive consumers, the substance is clearly mentioned.

The list of ingredients is usually labelled on the box of the product sold in your country. For practical reasons (missing packaging or packaging too small), the "open book" symbol refers to a notice or a card (on request to your MAVALA sales adviser in the sales point) mentioning the list of ingredients. This list is not available on internet, as some products may be formulated differently depending on the country and the legal prescriptions may vary from a market to another.

What means the sign
It tells you to look elsewhere for additional information (list of ingredients, precautions of use) on the packaging, label or card attached to the product, when these elements cannot be mentioned on the packaging, due to lack of space.

What means
It indicates the duration of use without risks for the consumer after the first opening of the tube, jar, bottle, ... provided the product has been stored under normal conditions and not exposed to extreme temperatures.
It is expressed as an open jar with a number of months ("M"). In Europe, expiry dates are not necessary on products indicating a PAO.

What is the warning sign
It recommends to keep away the product in all circumstances, from heat or any source of ignition. This sign is not compulsory on cosmetic products, but it gives a useful information to consumers.

No animal testing is carried out on MAVALA products, regardless of the country of sale.
Although the ban on animal testing in Switzerland is quite recent (2018), MAVALA laboratories have complied with this requirement for much longer, according to European cosmetic regulations. The European cosmetic regulations have prohibited since 2004 to conduct experiments on animals, and since 2009 (or 2013 for the latest tests) to commercialize finished products containing ingredients tested on animals.
The mention "not tested on animals" does not appear on our products because it is a legal obligation.

Unless otherwise stated on the labeling, Mavala products can be used by pregnant or breastfeeding women. When manicure products are used (base coats, nail polishes, top coats, nail polish removers, etc.), it is important to well ventilate the room !

All Mavala nail polishes, including base coats and top coats, are porous enough to allow the nail to breathe and receive water vapour.
